HOW WE CAN HELP YOU

Types of Tunnel Repair Services

There are various tunnel repair services, including timber set removal, steel set installation, shotcrete, grouting, rock bolting, and scaling.

Timber Set Removal

Timber sets are removed from tunnels in preparation for shotcrete to be applied to the tunnel lining. The wood is removed because of the potential fire hazard it poses inside the tunnel.

Steel Set Installation

Steel sets are used for ground support when conditions deteriorate. Installation of steel sets may involve lagging and backfill, depending on ground conditions.

Shotcrete

Our shotcrete undergoes placement and compaction at the same time due to the force with which it is projected from the nozzle. It can be impacted on any type or shape of surface, including vertical or overhead areas.

Grouting

Grout is a thin cement mixture that’s used to fill space and voids behind and around structures. This material can act in a structural capacity to stabilize, strengthen, and support a structure.

Rock Bolting

Rock bolts are used to tie unstable or potentially unstable rock structures into the tunnel. We specialize in this service and are pleased to offer you the support you need.

Scaling

We’ll remove loose rocks from slopes to prevent them from hurting persons or property should they fall. This can promote better safety conditions for all.

Tunnel Enlargement

Some older tunnels are too small to allow passage of current freight trains, and these tunnels need to be enlarged. Methods of tunnel enlargement include notching, liner removal and installation of larger steel sets, and/or installation of rock bolts and shotcrete.

Drill and Blast

For certain projects, ground conditions require the use of explosives. That is when conventional, mechanical means are not enough.
