Tasked by Norfolk Southern to construct a culvert (tunnel) to provide drainage and replace failing culverts that ran beneath Norfolk Southern’s tracks. LRL used driven pipe canopy shoring and conventional mining techniques to construct a 16 ft. diameter arch culvert tunnel. The liner of the new tunnel was constructed using steel sets and shotcrete.
