Tasked by ODOT to construct a culvert (tunnel) to improve fish habitat and replace a failing 446 ft. long, 6 ft. diameter culvert that ran beneath US HWY 101 in Manzanita, OR. The new culvert consisted of a 204 ft. long, 15 ft. diameter culvert (tunnel), and open cut channel with shoring. One of the advantages of this design was construction without disrupting traffic traveling above on US HWY 101 or the surrounding community. LRL used driven pipe canopy shoring and conventional mining techniques to complete this job.
